"The winds of change and circumstance, blow in and all around us; So we find a foothold that's familiar..."
I was driving in the car today and I started listening to the lines of a song I have heard a million times. It's funny how you can hear something so many times and yet you don't realize what you're listening to. I can't believe 2009 is almost over! I would say that I am a person that struggles with change but as much as I hate accepting it, change in the last year of my life has brought on so many things.... It is 4 hours away from bringing in the new year and looking back over 2009 I have so many things to be thankful for!
I have grown so much this past year as a person and I have gained so many new relationships and I have so many great people in my life!

I guess it's a lifelong lesson that we will continue to learn, but in this past year, especially the last couple of months I continue to see how God's timing is everything. "Nothing is impossible with God." This is such a true statement. All the times when we think that the things we do, and the life that we live, goes unseen, God has it all under control. If I've learned one thing in the last year of my life I have realize how much Faith really matters. Jeremiah 29:11 rings so much truth in my life and it's been refreshing to see God continue to unfold his plan in front of me.

It's been a blessing to watch my parents be blessed in their lives for their continued faithfulness. My Dad no doubt is a man of God who lives out his call in life and even if he get's tired, he continues to seek after the vision that God has placed in his life. The church is growing, and GREAT things are happening. My Mom recently got a new job as the Resident Director of Nurses in West at Indian River Estates, and is being blessed over and over. It is cool so how happy they both are and how they can do the things that they want to now. Most of life was all about me and meeting my needs and I am thankful that they can now do some things for themselves that they have always wanted to do.

I am so thankful that God brought me to Trevecca and for the friendships that I have continued to pursue this past year and for all the new friendships I have gained even this year. I no doubt miss some of my friends that graduated and some that didn't come back but God continues to bless my life with great people and mentors. I am also thankful for my wonderful boyfriend. Kinda funny we celebrate one year on new years...it's been a year of growing no doubt but I am thankful for the sweet memories I have with him and for the support he has been in my life. No one said miles were easy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Looking back, I can see God's hand working in my life and I am no doubt blessed!

I am anxious to see what this new year holds. I haven't made any huge new years resolution, but a few things I know that I want to do better at....

haha blogging...writing things down and remember things that are important to me.
Being more thoughtful, sending random cards to people that mean something to me and telling people how I feel
Spend more time playing my guitar
Not be such a procrastinator with school (haha don't I say this every new semester?)
I want to start reading more
Pick up playing the piano more
Start scrapbooking
Watch an entire season of Grey's Anatomy :)
More of a willingness to try new things

These are just a few but the list is longer :)

Happy New Year's Everyone!

  1. Happy New Year's, BK.
WHAT? No one commenting yet? I can't believe it.

Good to "catch up" with you. I look forward to hearing more about your life in 2010 than I got to in 2009. Even if it is thru the blogworld, I'll take it. Glad to hear good things about your parents. They do truly deserve to enjoy life a bit and I didn't know that about your mom!

Where in the world are you gonna find time to do anything more than you already do? Ha! Scratch that silly reading off your list, and get into digital scrapbooking--(so much more realistic these days than the cool book your mom/Steph made for you!)...keep piano. Keep the procrastinating, too. In honor of "Pastor". ;-)

    Love ya girlie.
